Posting to the many Search Engines our way, manually, is very labor intensive. We know because we have been doing it for eight years for our own web sites, as well as clients in our Marketing Makeover program.
What we have discovered in the pay per click field is that you can achieve real 'eyeballs' just by paying a few dollars to start and as little as a penny to have a top position. More than that you can maximize your pay per click investment in smaller Search Engines primarily because you can get a click through visitor for as little as that penny as opposed to, as much as $30 on a large pay per click engine.
Now don't get me wrong the time and money spent posting to our select group of SE's definitely works and banner/button advertising has it's place along with classified ads but a combined program covers a wider spectrum. With 5 billion pages on the Internet finding yours is like trying to find one in a dozen haystacks.
For our PPC project we selected an association with a company known as DMOZ or ODP ( Open Directory Project) because it is one of the largest manually monitored directories on the web. DMOZ supplies most of the major directories and engines, as well as, hundreds of smaller ones.
Our visitors will be happy with the quality of their searches and come back for more. You will too.
